This ancient temple was founded in the 7th century by Prince Imseong, the ancestor of the Ouchi clan.
Along with flourishing as home to the clan deity of the Ouchi, it was also the temple shrine where Myoken worship is said to have started.
The Daikoku Fair is held here every January 7, and the Setsubun festival is held every February 3.
